Be kind and rewind

Be kind and rewind

If you missed out on a personalized item from the Heritage Auction, you're in luck, we added some signed items from the archive. A Mark-ridden Krooked skateboard, some case fresh VHS tapes, signed prints, and another rare zine.

Keep your eyes on the site over the next few weeks. Especially at noon EST on Saturdays. That’s when we have “make the magic happen” penciled in our calendars.

Wow, is that Carol Channing on the cover? Anyone remember her? Recognize her? I know she was on Sesame Street and probably The Muppet Show. She was one of those classic movie stars that would show up on random TV shows singing “Hello Dolly” or something. Billion Dollar Zine. We have a very small stack of these available. Came directly from Mark's studio. Words and images from both Mark and Curtis. These were originally sold by Printed Matter around 2019, I believe. The version they sold were not signed. Not sure why these were. These will go quick.

Created by THE SKATEROOM in 2022. These 3 decks were released at the HVW8 Art & Design Gallery in Los Angeles, in conjuction with Mark’s solo show, “Ready to Articulate.” 50 of each deck was made and I believe they were sold as a set. 10 sets were "uniquely altered" by Mark and sold at the event. 25 sets were sold unaltered, 5 sets labeled as Artist Proofs, and 10 sets were labeled as Edition Proofs. These rarely come up for sale on the secondary market. This is the first time an EP is being released from the archive.

Filmed exclusively on camcorders and only released on VHS. Gnar Gnar feels like the homemade skate videos you created if you grew up before cell phones. Rewatching this last week was a reminder of how special this moment of time was for Krooked. The soundtrack is epic, too. Mark skates to The Smiths, Zappa, New Order...if you don't own a VHS player, go ahead and watch it here.
